Blogger troubles

You know that awkward moment when you've made like 5 blog posts but only 2 have been recorded because you forgot to put the your name label on them? Yeah that. It's like 2 in the morning and the exam is tomorrow/today for this class and I came on here to check and see if all my blogs were up and to respond to more of them, and discover that I have only labeled TWO. I mean, I know I've done more than that. Life is hard. Also, I have a headache. To be honest I think the stress is a bit too much. I'd like some government compensation for my troubles. Anyway, I like the IDEA of this whole blogger thing, but it really doesn't mix well with inattentive people like-dude there's a guy outside my apartment and I think he's selling drugs!

Macbeth

I thought that Macbeth would be a little more concerned for his dead wife. When Lady Macbeth died he was upset but he got over it quickly. It really displayed the intense selfishness of Macbeth, it was the final display and revealing of his character, showing just how evil he was.

Peer Pressure

One of the primary themes that we shouldn't overlook is peer pressure. Macbeth was peer pressured by his wife into killing Duncan. Sure there was a part of him that wanted the witches' prophecy to come true, as being king is always nice bar a revolution, but without his wife trying to convince him to it's entirely probable that he never would've carried through with the murder. This goes to show that peer pressure never really goes away, the peer group simply changes. There is no age limit, we will always be influenced by the people around us. Sometimes the influence can be good, and other times, like in Macbeth's case, it can be very bad.

The Dark Side

While I've never thought about it before this, I do believe that evil is innate. I'd bet that everyone has to deal with the temptation to do evil, to serve yourself before others. It's like Star Wars. The Jedi recognize that evil is innate, and do everything they can to stop their members from falling to the dark side, forbidding love and passion as these emotions lead to selfish temptations. Darkness and evil are in us all, it's our choices that see it remain dormant and safe, or active and flourishing.

Illusive Ambition.

Ambition can affect people in positive ways. But it can also be incredibly dangerous. Being too ambitious can lead to being destroyed by a quest for power. A great example is the leader of the Pro-human organization Cerberus, The Illusive Man (Real name Jack Harper). His desire was to protect and advance humanity as a species in competition with every other race. A noble goal, but he took it too far and became obsessed and over ambitious. He conducted horrible experiments and ended up doing more harm than good, losing his rationality and believing that the only way to keep humanity alive was to try and control the machines that were trying to kill us. This, ironically, almost led to our destruction. The Illusive Man is a perfect example of how ambition is dangerous and should be approached with caution.

"Riot" scene

The scene where all the women are fighting and hashing it out with each other is a more realistic example of a circle of friends than I've normally seen in other pieces of media. No group of friends will be without their tensions and issues with one another. For example, one of my closest buddies yesterday called me many obscene names that I will not repeat here. But then he said he felt guilty and apologized (He didn't need to, we're bros). The point I'm trying to make is that there is no such thing as a "perfect" friendship, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Conflict can both break a bond or reinforce it. It's like fire; it's not good or evil, it's how you use it.

First Nations Lore

While not directly related to the Rez sisters, I found a site that has a lot of First Nations stories and lore. If anybody is interested you can read some interesting tales. :)
