Learning MacBeth

in my opinion i think macbeth is really difficult for students to understand, if we had the books with the modern translations, alot more students would do better in the unit.. idk how other people feel about macbeth but thats just my personal opinion

    1. Marjone, that is a good strategy. THere is nothing wrong with asking for help to understand something.

  2. I definitely agree that Shakespeare's writing style is difficult to understand, but I also believe that it's a good challenge for students to closely examine the text in order to find the significance of the plot. I feel like once you can successfully read and understand Shakespeare's plays, you can conquer any kind of author's writing style with ease. That's just my thoughts.

  3. I agree that Macbeth is very difficult to understand, as a student and as a teacher. When I first taught Macbeth, I had to read passages over numerous times to understand it.

I see reading Macbeth similar to learning anything difficult...it takes time, practice and dedication. Just because one doesn't understand parabolas right away, doesn't mean they shouldn't be taught. More time spent with parabolas would be necessary.

  4. Macbeth is quite difficult to read but i feel thats not a reason we shouldnt read it. The reason i feel we shouldnt study it is because it has nothing to do with modern day. We will never use our knowledge of shakespeare again. Yes there is deep meaning and thoughts put into it, but the way it is written.. nobody talks like that anymore.
