"Riot" scene

The scene where all the women are fighting and hashing it out with each other is a more realistic example of a circle of friends than I've normally seen in other pieces of media. No group of friends will be without their tensions and issues with one another. For example, one of my closest buddies yesterday called me many obscene names that I will not repeat here. But then he said he felt guilty and apologized (He didn't need to, we're bros). The point I'm trying to make is that there is no such thing as a "perfect" friendship, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Conflict can both break a bond or reinforce it. It's like fire; it's not good or evil, it's how you use it.

  1. That was actually really good. It was a shot in the dark and it worked. I wish I thought of something I could explain that quickly.

  2. Agreed bud. Sometimes me and my friends get into an arguement and we just call eachother names . but after, we just hugg it out because we just expressed out our feelings and it feels good afterwards :D which creates a greater bond between us .

  3. i like your reference to fire and how you "use" it... people dont always think about outside the box about things like that they just jump to a certain conclusion... good job

  4. I think you raise a great point with this post, and I like how you said, ``conflict can break a bond or reinforce it``. In life everyone gets in fights as you said but it’s how you deal with them that determine the final outcome. A great friendship is one similar to the Rez Sisters, one where at times you need to let your anger and frustration out in order to bring you closer and move on together. I think the riot in this play showed how no relationship is perfect and fighting is common, however if you handle it in the right way it can make your friendship that much stronger. Great point Keith!

  5. Keith, I like how you were able to make a connection between the play and your own life. While I doubt that you have much in common with the characters, as you have pointed out, there are many experiences that are common simply by being human.
